    About our Awards:

      "Robert W. Lewis Award"
For those who remember Bob Lewis, you know why the Chamber named it’s Outstanding Citizen/Volunteer Award after Bob.
Retired Colonel Bob Lewis was the quintessential “officer and a gentleman”. He spent many years at Fort Devens and when he retired made himself indispensable to his new home off base. He was a member of the Ayer Rotary and the Federated Church and was a founding father of this Chamber.
Bob was known as a generous and dedicated man who literally did not have the word “no” in his vocabulary. He personified community service and leadership and his charitable work in the Nashoba Valley is legendary. His presence in the Nashoba Valley Region is sorely missed but the good deeds he did while here live on

      "Roy L. Jeannotte Award"
Roy Jeannotte was presented with the Outstanding Company or Organization Award in November 2000 for R. L. Jeannotte, Inc. The company has received many accolades in the years they have been in business including the Eagle Award for Excellence in Construction from the Associated Builders and Contractors of America. The Jeannotte’s have always been known as a strong and viable family, keeping family first and business second.
Roy Jeannotte was fun loving and well respected not only in his community but the business community as well. Always on the go, Roy stayed busy with many community activities including his involvement in Shirley town government and his contributions to charities such as the Make a Wish Foundation. In addition, Roy was owner and founder of a construction firm, R. L. Jeannotte Inc. Roy was a dedicated husband, father, son, brother, and friend.
In April 2001 Roy was diagnosed with esophageal cancer. When Roy passed away in November 2001, he left a legacy of community service that his family has carried on. R. L. Jeannotte, Inc. continues to makes our community a place where generosity, positive attitude, and devotion to family is the standard not the exception
