Learn all about Amateur Radio, and how you can become part of it. Amateur, or "Ham", Radio is a hobby promoted by the US Government through the Federal Communications Commission. It promotes learning about radio communication techniques, radio technology, and science. Amateur Radio advances the radio art, promotes international good will, and is an independent communications resource in times of disaster as it is not reliant on any infrastructure. Amateur Radio operators provide many public services, such as communications for the Red Cross, Salvation Army, and for events such as the Boston Marathon.
Presented by the Nashoba Valley Amateur Radio Club.
