This 4 session, 10 hour certificate class will present an overview of Validation, allowing students to understand why validation practices are important and how it impacts various industries. Students will be exposed to various aspects of validation including installation qualification and operational qualification; taking into account how long a study will be conducted, data collection methods and traceability requirements. Discussions will include developing the protocol, conducting the validation and finalizing the report. Students will gain an understanding of why validation is an integral part of both FDA regulated and general manufacturing industries. The hands-on component of the session will include developing and conducting the validation of laboratory equipment. In addition, students will have the opportunity to work with a local primary metrology lab and learn about the types of careers available. Students will be assessed at the end of the program to demonstrate mastery of the content. A certificate will be granted upon successful completion of this course.
