*FREE Family Winter Hike at Ayer's Pine Meadow Pond Trails**!*
Saturday, January 28, 10am - 12noon.
(Storm date: Feb. 4, same time.)
What do *porcupines* do to survive in winter? How large have the ice-bound
*beaver* *lodges* grown since fall? You and your family are invited to
join Laurie Nehring, Naturalist, to explore the Habitat Loop Trail and
Porcupine Hill, where we do indeed know that porcupines are thriving!
Portions of this hike will include some steep trails & optional rock
scrambling.
Dress warmly, in layers with snow boots, hats, & gloves, water and a light
snack for children. This program is FREE and open to the public, thanks to
the grant support from the Ayer Cultural Council, which is supported by the
Massachusetts Cultural Council, a state agency! Because parking is limited
at the trail entrance, *we will meet at the Ayer Shirley High School
parking lot at 9:45. * Pre-registration is greatly appreciated:
