Ft. Devens Museum Opens Doors Oct. 15th
To Miniature Wargame Enthusiasts
Have you ever wondered if you could rewrite history? Go back in time and change the whole direction of a war? Come to Fort Devens Museum on Saturday, October 15th, and join in one (or all!) of six miniature wargames depicting different battles from world history and see how your careful moves might affect the outcomes! The games will be held from 10 AM to 3 PM and players of all ages are welcome to watch and join in throughout the day.
There will be six different games being played concurrently, many with handcrafted soldiers and detailed battleground terrain. The games cover battles from the French and Indian War to World War II: Deerfield Raid from the French and Indian War; Civil War Battle; Chain of Command WWII Skirmish Combat; Wings of War WWI Aerial Combat; Great Northern War between Sweden and Russia; and Battle of Hanghai 1937 – this one is especially fun for kids. It’s a unique opportunity to immerse yourself in both historical military events and today’s realm of miniature gaming.
The Fort Devens Museum is located at 94 Jackson Road, Devens, MA, on the third floor and is wheelchair accessible. The museum is open on October 15th from 10 AM to 3 PM. This event is free and open to the public. Come to see what Camp Devens and Fort Devens were all about, meet others interested in military and local history, and enjoy and join in some miniature wargaming.
