    Job Description
    Educational Support Personnel Needed
    Oxbow Schoolhouse is seeking an experienced educator to join their group of dedicated teachers as educational support personnel.  Oxbow is a non-profit, independent elementary school program inspired by Waldorf education in Devens, Massachusetts.  Less than an hour south of Wilton, New Hampshire, Devens is halfway between the vibrant cities of Boston and Worcester in a thriving suburban area with plentiful green space.
    The ideal candidate has knowledge of or interest in Waldorf education and the desire to work within this educational framework, as well as experience supporting the academic needs of a diverse group of learners both in the classroom and individually.  He or she is willing to develop and nurture healthy relationships with students, faculty, and school families.
    This is a two-thirds to full-time position for the school year 2018-2019, beginning in August, 2018.  Actual hours will be determined by student, school, and/or candidate needs.
    • Bachelor’s degree required
    • Teaching certificate preferred
    • 3+ years experience working with children in an academic setting
    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, as well as the ability to work collaboratively with class teachers
    • Established proficiency in language arts and math
    Teaching responsibilities:
    • Modifying curriculum to meet individual student needs
    • One-on-one or small group support of students’ classroom participation
    • Supplementing instruction
    • Creating and/or implementing study practices and/or aids to help students excel
    • Providing assessments and end-of-year reports
    • Giving feedback to parents during scheduled conferences
    • Attending weekly faculty meetings
    Compensation will be based on experience and training.
    Full-time personnel at Oxbow receive tuition remission for their children who attend Oxbow in grades 1-6.
    Educational support personnel report to the Faculty Chair, who oversees their work, collaborating with them to determine appropriate avenues for professional development. Educational support personnel follow school policies and procedures as described in the school’s handbook, which can be viewed online at www.oxbowschoolhouse.org. As the school develops, so might the faculty or staff member’s responsibilities, which may not be limited to the work specified in this description.
