Simple steps to make your home safer, warmer, and more efficient 
Ice, snow and wind can have devastating consequences on your home; fortunately, there are precautions you can take to avoid winter related damage. Fall is the time to winterize before cold weather sets in.
Clean out gutters
Trim trees and remove dead branches
Repair steps and handrails
Seal cracks and holes in outside walls and foundations  
Keep the house warm
Add extra insulation to attics, basements and crawl spaces
Provide a reliable back-up power source
Have your heating system serviced
Check pipes 
Install an emergency pressure release valve in your plumbing system 
Remove combustible items placed near any heat sources 
Install and check smoke/carbon monoxide detectors
Learn how to shut the water off and know where your pipes are located 
Hire a licensed contractor to look for structural damage
