Yum: interjection. 1. delicious; tasty; excellent (used to express pleasure, esp. in the taste of food). (Wordsmith)
A feast for the senses, the Seventh Annual Taste of Nashoba, held at the Lawrence Academy Gymnasium on Tuesday, March 25th, surpassed expectations!
With 35 vendors, the 924 arriving guests were greeted with a spectacular feast for both the eye and the palate that invited exploration from table to table. Frequent "detours" became necessary, however, due to the wafting of tempting aromas, or the glimpse of a special treat just too good to pass by. Neighbors and friends enjoyed a casual evening chatting, sampling, and admiring the considerable culinary talent present in our own small valley.
Event Sponsor, Nashoba Valley Medical Center, raffled off a nutritious gourmet gift basket in recognition of National Nutrition Month. The Chamber also raffled off many wonderful gift baskets and gift certificates donated by our vendors and Chamber members.
A new and popular addition to this years event featured music from The Acton Jazz Café.
Guests voted for the "Peoples Choice" awarding Herb Lyceum with Best Appetizer, Wachusett Brewing for Best Beverage, Gibbet Hill Grill for Best Dessert, and a tie between Trader Joes and Nashoba Valley Technical High School for Best Presentation. Nashoba Valley Technical High School also walked away with Peoples Choice for Best Entreé.
Once again, Loaves & Fishes sold water and soda at the event while Big Brothers Big Sisters volunteered to staff the coat check. With such a great venue and fabulous fare everyone left inspired and full, and armed with a list of places to visit in the next few months.
