Introducing...Amal Wing, USMC Veteran, Lancaster, MA
Nominated by her father-in-law, Amal Wing is a Marine Corp. Veteran, who served from 2009-2013, including Operation Enduring Freedom from February 2011 to February 2012 in Afghanistan. Once she returned home, she continued to serve others as a Reserve Police Officer for the Lancaster Police Department. Amal was discharged from the Marines due to a hip injury while in Afghanistan – she has been participating in physical therapy for years. Her condition causes chronic and intense pain as well as tingling and numbness in her right leg.
“Companies like NEWPRO and people who think about veterans after their time in the service, make a difference in our lives, especially in mine. It makes me feel so humbled to know people care." - Amal Wing, US Marines
In addition to benefiting Amal’s condition, the gift of this bath system will greatly impact the health of Amal’s middle son who is diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis. His condition requires a bacteria free environment. Bathrooms can be a breeding ground for mold and mildew. This new bath system that will replace their existing tub features anti-bacterial protection to help contribute to a healthy bathing space.
Baths for the Brave is a special collaborative event and partnership between ten home improvement companies nationwide that provides veterans with the gift of a newly remodeled bath or shower in an effort to improve their lives by making their bathrooms safer and more accessible. On November 8th, 2017, NEWPRO gave the gift of a free bath remodel to Ryan Bugler to make his bathing life a little easier. “Providing a safe bathing environment and helping our nation’s heroes by giving back is the reason why we wanted to get involved with Baths for the Brave,” Nick Cogliani, President of NEWPRO, said.
