The Westford Historical Society is hosting the Wild Women of Westford on
Saturday, March 30 starting at 7 p.m. This fundraiser will be held at the Museum.
Every woman has a story to tell and gifts to share with the world. Since 1987, the United
States has formally recognized March as National Women’s History Month. To that end, on March 30, the Westford Historical Society is honoring and celebrating some of Westford’s magnificent ladies in the program, Wild Women of Westford.
From school teacher and mill worker to scientist and civil right activist, Westford has an
abundant history of outstanding and courageous women and we will introduce you to just a few of them.
With visual assistance from the Museum’s Westford Women Dolls, participants will hear how their
lives made a difference in our town and world today. We will enjoy samplings of wines from
Aaronap Cellars paired with chocolate and cheese from the Cheese Monger at Mill No.
5, and other sweets (non-alcoholic drinks will be provided).
We will also be honoring Ellen Rainville, a modern Westford Woman who has contributed
much to shaping all our lives.
Tickets are $40 for Non-Members and $25 for WHS Members. No tickets will be sold at the
door. You can purchase tickets on the website (museum.westford.org/events) or at the
Museum Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays 9-1 and Sundays 2-4pm.
The mission of the Westford Historical Society is to promote the understanding and
appreciation of Westford’s unique history to the community. By providing programming that
features aspects of the daily lives, activities and achievements of Westford residents, we
strive to expand and enrich understanding of how our town continues to evolve. We foster an environment of teaching and learning that strengthens our
sense of community. We will collect, preserve and exhibit documents, photographs, objects
and sites historically significant to Westford, and encourage outside efforts to do the same.
The Westford Museum is open most Sundays 2-4pm. Please stop by and visit our new
exhibits!
