    We are currently looking for a dynamic Human Resources Assistant to join the HR Team at our Corporate Office in N. Billerica.  The ideal candidate would be a self-starter looking to progress in a fast paced, high volume HR department.  Become a vital part in the company’s success while handling a variety of personnel related administrative tasks including HRIS database maintenance; new hire orientations; employment verifications; employee perk programs/events, and overall department general organization.  This position will be the primary processor of all new hires, terminations, personnel changes, and personnel transactions.  The HR Assistant will also assist the Sr. HR Rep. with benefits processing, orientations, bill reconciliation and other benefits-related administrative duties.  This position will also serve as the back-up to payroll as needed for coverage and support HR Staff members on special projects, running ad-hoc and scheduled reports.  PGI offers a stimulating work environment and is looking for a candidate that is highly motivated with strong work ethic and passion.
    Essential Duties and Responsibilities
    • Deliver new hire orientations to newly eligible employees.  Follow-up with employees to answer their questions and/or to retrieve additional paperwork needed.
    • Assist employees with their Human Resources questions and issues, and ensure that appropriate follow-up is made through either final resolution or delegation of issue to another member of the HR department.
    • Responsible for I-9 maintenance and follow-up.
    • Process new hire, termination and other personnel action paperwork into HRIS system.
    • Process benefit changes with insurance carriers and also process in HRIS database.
    • Assist Sr. HR Rep. with other benefit-related responsibilities including benefit orientations, bill reconciliation and COBRA paperwork.
    • Complete and respond to employment verifications.
    • Monitor form and supplies inventory and place reorders or make copies as necessary. Also responsible for business card orders/reorders.
    • Responsible for all department filing, records maintenance and general overall department organization.
    • Responsible for miscellaneous distributions (i.e., 401(k) quarterly reports, SPD’s, paychecks etc.)
    • Manage employee perk programs and events.
    • Assist with administrative duties for other site HR departments as needed.
    • Serve as back-up payroll processor in absence of Payroll Manager.
    • Assist with recruiting activities as needed.
    • Ensure compliance with all applicable federal and state laws.
