FITCHBURG -- After a national search, the Applewild Board of Trustees has unanimously appointed Lunenburg native Amy Jolly to be Applewild's seventh Head of School.
Jolly will begin her tenure on July 1, 2019.
"Amy impressed the faculty, staff, board and many parents. The Search Committee admired her deep appreciation for Applewild's Core Values and program, her energy, her innovative initiatives, her breadth and depth of experience in enrollment management, her thorough familiarity with our region and a variety of schools, and her recent experience as a Head of School," said Will Aubuchon, president of the board and former Applewild student.
Most recently, Jolly was the Head of School at Maine Girls Academy in Portland, Maine. She began her independent school career as the admissions director at Oakcrest School in McLean, Virginia.
After helping the school grow for four years, she found an opportunity to return to her roots near Lunenburg by becoming the director of Admissions and Financial Aid at Shady Hill School in Cambridge and then at Fenn School in Concord for nine years.
