MassMoves: Come Design a 21st-Century Transportation System for Massachusetts
11:30 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.
Central Mass location TBD
Transportation is central to all our lives – it is how we get to work, doctor appointments, school, gatherings with family and friends, and more.
Our transportation system — designed for the 20th century – needs a vision and action plan for this century. A 21st-century transportation system can expand travel choices, reduce emissions, harness new technologies, and provide affordability and accessibility for all.
MassMoves is embarking on a public engagement initiative to create a statewide transportation vision, and we need your input. As part of the State Senate’s 2017 Commonwealth Conversations tour, MassMoves, funded by the Barr Foundation, is facilitating nine public workshops across the state. We want to hear your views on values, actions, and priorities for the Commonwealth’s transportation future.
State senators and other state, local, and civic leaders will be attending workshops, and they are eager to hear from you. A report summarizing the results from the workshops will provide state, regional, and local transportation decision makers with your views about the future direction of transportation in the Commonwealth.
Questions We Want to Explore:
- What values should a 21st-century transportation system embody?
- What approaches do you think are most important to get Massachusetts on the pathway to a 21st-century transportation system?
- What three lead actions should be taken in your region to start on that pathway?
